On Friday, the Detroit Lions released the initial jersey numbers for their rookies and WR Jameson Williams is wearing No. 18 to start off his career.
But if you are rushing out to get your Williams No. 18 jersey, you may want to pump the brakes a bit as he could end up choosing a new number before the season begins.
“I don’t really know,” he said. “I like it, though. How do y’all think it looks?”
While at Alabama, Williams wore No. 1, but that is already taken by Lions CB Jeff Okudah, who switched over from No. 23 for the upcoming season.
According to Williams, he tried to make a deal with Okudah to get No. 1 but Okudah was not giving it up.
“He can have it. I ain’t too much tripping off it,” Williams said. “I’m going to have to find something else, or rock on with the 18.”
