Doomsday Plan: Who would replace Jim Harbaugh if he left?

Current Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown

The Harbaugh administration has already had a promotion within its first two years with D. J. Durkin. If Durkin would’ve stayed, he probably would’ve been my top pick. My top pick still stays with the defensive coordinator under Harbaugh; it simply isn’t Durkin, it’s defensive mastermind Don Brown. Brown has filled the role Durkin left in emphatic fashion. His defense has ranked in the top ten in numerous categories and it would appear that the hard-nosed football that Jim Harbaugh had in Stanford is here to stay in Ann Arbor as well.

My only concern, if you wish to even call it that, would be in familiarity. Keeping a regime without its figurehead could give an underwhelming result. Brady Hoke is an obvious example of this effect. I sincerely doubt that Brown would fail in the same way as Hoke, so this issue doesn’t seem very tangible.
