Draymond Green being sued by former MSU player for alleged assault

It was around this time a year ago when there was misunderstanding [or insert other synonym here] of sorts in East Lansing between two Spartans.

Former basketball star and current Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green and former football player Jermaine Edmondson were involved in an incident in which the former Green allegedly assaulted the latter Edmondson outside a bar in East Lansing.

Roughly more than a year later, Edmondson is reportedly pursuing a civil lawsuit against Green, with the headline of the suit defining Green as a “bully.”

Though there were conflicting eye-witness reports on whether or not Green actually harmed or harassed Edmondson his girlfriend, Green was eventually arrested and charged with a misdemeanor assault. The former hoops star however accepted a lesser noise violation and payed a fine later agreed upon that he stayed out of trouble for the next calendar year.

That year has come and gone. Edmondson still speaks of the mental and psychological aftermath the alleged incident has left on him, including instances of him being made fun of and mocked because of what allegedly happened. It ultimately led to him being granted his scholarship release and transferring, though it was never reported that the incident with Green was the definite reason for the decision to leave MSU.

Edmondson’s girlfriend Bianca Williams, who is also named as a plaintiff in the lawsuit against Green, also shared her thoughts on the incident and specifically talked about how it was especially difficult for her because of some past issues regarding abuse in her family.

“I think about what happened with Draymond every day,” Edmondson said. “I still feel his hand on my jaw. There are nights when I wake up crying. I don’t understand why my name has been turned into this joke, and he gets all the credit for being a superstar and standing up for women.”

Green’s publicist said that the Warriors’ superstar forward is looking forward to “defending himself and clearing up the misinformation put forth today.
