TIGER BACK ON THE PROWL
Our Texas-living and trumpet-playing golf enthusiast Carl Poposki went a little off the grid but stayed on the fairway with one moment that stands out, given the weight this athlete carries:
On my list of Top Moments for 2016 has to include the return of Tiger Woods. After a 15-month layoff from the PGA Tour, Tiger returned to competition at the Hero World Challenge. The tournament, which directly benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation, was played at Albany in The Bahamas and featured a small field of the best golfers in the world.
Tiger not only made it through the tournament without injury (a significant feat, considering he’s returning from 7 surgeries for knee and back issues), but, he shot a bogey-free 65 in Round 2. Love him or hate him, Tiger Woods is a once in a generation athlete. The golf and sporting world is better with him in competition.
That final line just about sums it up. There’s certain athletes in sports where their presence alone makes their team or the entire sport that much better. And Tiger is one of those figures.
