This past week, the Detroit Lions started a movement when players and coaches decided they would skip practice to draw further attention to the plight of Black people in America.
That happened last Tuesday and since then, other NFL teams have followed suit, while MLB and NBA teams have canceled actual games to do their part.
But could the Lions go a step further and actually boycott regular-season games in 2020?
Peter King of Football Morning in America recently asked Lions safety, Duron Harmon, if players missing games to continue making a point and Harmon said that is something that is not off the table.
“Nothing is ever too much when you’re fighting for basic equality, basic human rights. Nothing is off the table. Can I sit here and say we’ll boycott games? I can’t say that. We’ll get to a decision like that when we get there. It’s a fluid situation. We don’t know what’s going to happen. We don’t know if there’s going to be another unarmed black man murdered by police. Resisting arrest does not deserve the death penalty. Resisting arrest should not get you seven bullets in the back. I can tell you this: We’re not going to stop. We’re not going away,” Harmon told King.
Nation, do you think NFL players will boycott games in 2020?
