The Detroit Pistons have taken a calculated risk by signing former NBA MVP Derrick Rose to a two-year contract this summer. They’re hoping he still has gas left in the tank after a resurgence as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.

But how healthy will he stay? With four knee surgeries under his belt (no pun), Rose developed a reputation for being injury-prone. But Pistons head coach Dwane Casey is looking forward to what Rose will provide the team.
“Former MVP. Still has it. Still has jets in his tank,” Casey said. “We were just together out in LA last week working out. Still can get to where he wants to go.”
Last year with Minnesota, Rose averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 42.8% from the field and 37% from three-point range.
