History was made by the Detroit Red Wings yesterday with the announcement that Michigan native Dylan Larkin would serve as the 37th captain in team history.
Or course, Larkin has some major shoes to fill as he’s following in the footsteps of past team legends Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom and Henrik Zetterberg.
The Red Wings took the ice for the first time this season at Little Caesars Arena, and Larkin was the final player introduced during the pre-game introductions, taking the ice for the first time donning the “C” on his jersey:
