The Detroit Pistons’ newest first-round pick officially has a jersey number.
Shortly after being selected with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, rookie guard Ebuka Okorie was introduced by the organization and revealed that he will wear No. 23 during his time in Detroit.
The announcement came Wednesday as Okorie posed with President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon while holding up his new Pistons jersey for the first time.

Detroit traded up four spots on draft night to select the explosive Stanford guard, signaling just how highly the organization views his potential. Okorie is coming off an outstanding freshman season in which he averaged 23.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists while shooting 47 percent from the field.
Known for his elite quickness, ability to attack the basket, and scoring instincts, the 19-year-old is expected to add another dynamic playmaker to a Pistons roster built around Cade Cunningham.
Now, fans know exactly what number they’ll be watching when Okorie takes the floor in Detroit.
With No. 23 on his back and expectations already building, the next chapter of Okorie’s basketball journey is officially underway.
