Eminem WWE: Detroit rapper ready to make a deal

In the last days, on the Internet, a very interesting indiscretion is making its way both for the fans of World Wrestling Entertainment and for the beloved rapper from Detroit, Eminem. In fact, it seems that the two parties are coming to an agreement for a collaboration, even though in these cases we should always wait for an official announcement. However, we’ll try to summarize the rumors that have emerged so far to help you understand if it is appropriate to bet on it just like we would do on pa horse betting or similar portals.

According to various sites, the WWE (which recently came to a Detroit) has reached an agreement with Marshall Bruce Mathers III, better known worldwide as Eminem. The artist who grew up in Detroit will create some songs specifically for the soundtrack of WWE 2K20, the new videogame from 2K Games that brings to PC and consoles the exploits of the big names in wrestling. Eminem will also be the one to choose the other tracks in the soundtrack of the game, similarly to what happened with Jay-Z for another product by 2K, namely the series dedicated to the NBA. In fact, another name of great prestige was already involved with WWE 2K17, i.e. Sean “Diddy” Combs, also known as Puff Daddy.

But that’s not all. Eminem could also be in the ring of SmackDown Live in the fall for one or more episodes of the “blue” show of the WWE, after which it will move on to FOX television networks. WWE could also make a custom belt in honor of the American rapper.

The combination of wrestling and music is certainly not new. Already for the first edition of WrestleMania in 1985, the WWF made an agreement with MTV, and created what was known as rock ‘n’ wrestling connection. The event was also attended by pop star Cindy Lauper, who in the first half of the 80s was competing with Madonna to be the number 1 in terms of celebrity and number of fans.

Those who lived those years will probably remember an event broadcast on MTV before Wrestlemania, when Roddy Piper, WWF’s number one heel at that time, interrupted a performance by singer Cindy Lauper, attacking manager Lou Albano. When the pop star tried to help the man nicknamed “Captain”, Piper pushed her away with a kick. For days and days, most mainstream media talked about this, greatly expanding the popularity of wrestling, which until then was still a real niche product.

Later there many famous musicians were involved in WWE and Wrestling in general. We remember for example Alice Cooper in Jake “The Snake” Roberts’ ring or Motorhead playing live the theme song of Triple H in a recent edition of Wrestlemania.

Certainly, the choice of Eminem by World Wrestling Entertainment, if confirmed, would not be random. The rapper has been on at the top of his game for many years. Therefore, involving him both in the 2K videogame and in the shows could be a flywheel for intriguing old and new fans of the musician.
