The Detroit Lions were less than a minute away from winning their first game of the season but they allowed the Minnesota Vikings too much time on the clock.
Following a late Vikings turnover, the Lions used a D’Andre Swift touchdown run, followed by a successful 2-point conversion, to take a one-point lead.
Unfortunately, the Vikings marched right down the field in less than a minute before kicking a 54-yard kick to win the game 19-17.
Following the game, Campbell was choked up as he spoke to reporters.
“When you see your players give all that they have and you lose that way, it’s tough,” Campbell said. “You want that for them.”
