Leicester City hasn’t had a great 2016-17 campaign after winning the English Premier League in shocking fashion last year. The English club are a meager 7-6-14 (W, D, L) in the EPL and currently (as of March 14th, 2017) sit 15th in the league table. Leicester City’s struggles have been so drastic that they sacked manager Claudio Ranieri just 9 months after winning the EPL title.
However, all doesn’t seem lost for the Foxes after a gutty performance in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League match-up with Sevilla FC. The Foxes took down Sevilla in a 2-0 shutout in the second leg, ultimately advancing through to the next round on a 3-2 aggregate.
The match was riddled with penalties throughout; five yellow cards, one red card, and 10 total fouls were called throughout the match. Sevilla came close to tying up the aggregate late in the match with an 80′ minute penalty shot. Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel came up with the big save to secure the much-needed victory for the struggling Foxes.

Leicester City will now wait on the other results from the Round of 16 to see who they will face in the quarterfinals that start on April 11th and 12th. The draw for the quarterfinal will commence on March 17th to determine the match-ups.
