Eric Ebron takes not so subtle shot at his former Detroit Lions’ teammates

The Detroit Lions could have had Odell Beckham Jr., they could have had Aaron Donald, they never should have drafted a tight end as high as they did.

Blah…Blah… Blah…

By now, you have heard all of that at least a thousand times and I have probably written it just as many.

Eric Ebron has moved on with his NFL career after the Lions cut ties with him after the 2017 season and he is doing just fine with the Indianapolis Colts. In fact, he is doing more than fine as he hauled in 13 touchdown catches this season which was just two fewer than the league leader Antonio Brown who had 15.

Since leaving the Lions, Ebron has not wasted many opportunities to call out his former team and that is exactly what he did in a recent interview with The Athletic. This time, it sure sounds like he was calling out some of his former teammates for being selfish when it comes to getting the football.

From The Athletic:

Tight end Eric Ebron, who immediately integrated himself and became a favorite teammate in his first season with Indianapolis, has a unique perspective on all of this. With his fresh set of eyes, he saw a team where “no one is selfish,” he said. “Nobody is bothered by the fact that they’re not getting (the ball). Everybody is like, ‘Hey, I’m here to do my job and do what I have to do.’ And when they go in, we trust them. (Ryan) Hewitt, even he caught a touchdown tonight. We haven’t seen that all year. But we trust him.”

Ebron was then asked whether that is true in every NFL locker room. The former Detroit Lions first-round draft pick offered a telling response.

“I don’t think so,” he said. “I’ve been in another one and I’m not so sure. I’m not sure that’s how it works all the time.”

Nation, are you buying what Ebron is selling or is he just butthurt and cannot get over the fact he was kicked to the curb by the Lions?
