Former Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron has found himself a new home with the Indianapolis Colts, and it sure sounds like he can’t wait to get started with his new teammates.

He signed a two-year contract with the Colts for a maximum of $15 million. Afterwards, he took to Instagram to express his happiness, saying that he hadn’t “smiled like this in a long time”.

He also declined to say anything about his former teammates from Detroit.

“I’m on a totally different team and I have nothing to say about the organization,” he said during a conference call with Indianapolis reporters. “I’m really thankful for them blessing me with an opportunity to play. But I really have nothing to say about the organization.”

What’s more, he decided to chime in on current Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin’s Instagram post. Griffin stated that “I never want to be in a place where I’m not wanted. Coming here made me realize what a franchise looks like” in response to what he felt as being under appreciated by the Los Angeles Clippers, his former team.

Ebron quickly posted “Facts!” in response.

Often on the receiving end of the wrath of Lions fans, Ebron was maligned for his frequent dropped passes and brash personality that rubbed several people the wrong way. Not one to shy away from speaking his mind, he even threw shade at Lions fans last season in response to their booing him, advising them to “#StayWoke” and to boo all they want.

He began his career in 2014 as a first round pick (ahead of Odell Beckham Jr. and Aaron Donald, no less) and showed improvement, but was never able to fully put it together in Detroit.

He caught 53 passes last season, but it wasn’t enough to make the Lions want to keep him around long term.
