ESPN releases NFL Week 7 Power Rankings, Detroit Lions playoff chances

Week 7 of the 2018 NFL season is officially in the books, which means that all of the “experts” out there will be releasing their latest Power Rankings.

For the Detroit Lions, Week 7 was restful as they were on their bye. Because of that, they remain at 2-3 on the season which keeps them at last place in the NFC North.

According to the latest ESPN Power Rankings, the Lions remain at No. 23, just behind the Cleveland Browns. In addition, ESPN gives the Lions a 7.9% chance of making the playoffs.

“Playoff chances: 7.9 percent. A big reason for the Lions’ struggles has been their inability to stop the run. They allow 5.3 yards per rush and 3.2 yards before contact per rush, both of which rank in the bottom three in the NFL. — Shah”

Up next for the Lions is a trip to Miami to take on the AFC East-leading Dolphins, who are coming off of an overtime win over the Chicago Bears. ESPN has the Dolphins at No. 15 in their Power Rankings and give them a 20.9% chance of making the playoffs.
