Former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has led the Los Angeles Rams to the Super Bowl, where he’ll be competing against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
For Stafford, who labored with the Lions for over a decade, plenty of his former teammates have stated their desire to see him finally win the big one.
And that list includes none other than Darius Slay.
“I’m happy for him,” Slay said. “I said the second he got out of Detroit, he’ll either be an MVP candidate or he’ll be in the Super Bowl. He has that talent.”
“I’m happy for him. He’s always been a top guy in this league and never got the credit he deserves. It’s good he’s playing on Sunday and I’m rooting for him.”
