Ex-Lions DE Darryl Tapp signed by New Orleans Saints

Former Detroit Lions DE Darryl Tapp was signed by the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday morning, according to the team’s official website.

Darryl Tapp LionsTapp played with the Lions each of the past two seasons and never missed a game during that time. The 10-year veteran also totaled 43 tackles and 2.5 sacks during his time in Detroit. Originally drafted by Seattle in the 2nd round of the 2006 NFL Draft, the Virginia Tech alum has also played with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins.

The Saints are looking for depth upon their particularly thin defensive front and Tapp should be a good addition for a defense that was one of the worst in 2015.
