Detroit Tigers fans have already seen the success that Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer have enjoyed since their departures from the Motor City, leaving them longing for the good old days.
And now, you can count Anibal Sanchez among former Tigers finding glory elsewhere.
Sanchez threw seven hitless innings for the Washington Nationals in Game 1 of the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals, helping them to a 2-0 shutout win.
“Tonight was vintage Anibal,” says Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman.
Aníbal Sánchez filled up the zone tonight with a very healthy mix of his four-seam fastball (29), changeup (24), sinker (20) and cutter (19). Take a look: pic.twitter.com/uo3wnups8c

Tigers fans were quick to write off Sanchez in his last year with Detroit when he posted a 6.41 ERA and 1.595 WHIP, and was then subsequently cut by the Minnesota Twins before rebounding with the Atlanta Braves.
And now he's just helped the Nationals to within three wins of a World Series appearance.
