Heading into the 2019 season, many believed the Detroit Lions could have one of the top defenses in the NFL. After all, for the second half of the 2018 season, the defense was very good and with the additions of DE Trey Flowers and CB Justin Coleman, it had to be even better this season, right?

Through 10 games, the Lions defense currently ranks No. 26 in the league according to advanced DVOA statistics, and they sit at No. 30 when it comes to total yards allowed.
That being said, Coleman believes the Lions defense is close to being “terrifying” in a good way.
From Detroit Free Press:
“One of the most terrifying defenses you can go against.”
“Nobody wants to sit there and go against man coverage all day,” Coleman said. “And I feel like we cover pretty well and we’re just going to have to finish, that’s all. We just got to finish.”
“I know it is (coming),” Coleman said. “We pretty much got everybody we need. Yeah, we lost some people. Right now, it’s the next man up. We’re just trying to get everybody on the same page and understand that we all got the same goal.”
