The Green Bay Packers clinched their 2nd straight divisional title Sunday afternoon at Ford Field with a 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions, who were playing their second game with interim head coach Darrell Bevell at the helm.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers continued his strong career performances against the Lions, going 26 of 33 for 290 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was roughed up in the 4th quarter and forced from the game.
Unfortunately for Detroit, they came up with the short end of the stick once again against their divisional rivals after a would-be catch from Marvin Jones Jr. was ruled incomplete and eventually upheld. Jones later said the officiating crew admitted to him that their ruling was wrong.
And judging from the fan reaction on social media, it’s simply another chapter in the perceived lack of respect the NFL has for the Motor City’s team.
