The first major change to the coaching staff of Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was announced earlier this afternoon, as maligned defensive coordinator Don Brown was given his pink slip after five years on the job in Ann Arbor.
And while Brown earned the wrath of the fan base over the years following several disappointing losses, not everyone is categorizing today’s news as an early Christmas gift.
While some fans are happy with the change in direction, several others are disappointed that Harbaugh isn’t departing with Brown.

Don Brown was a great guy to have representing Michigan. His defenses were elite during his early stages in Ann Arbor. I hope his legacy at least partially reflects that and not just how it ended.
That said, very excited for a new voice and new direction with Michigan's defense.

Scapegoat. In his tenure as Michigan’s DC, Don Brown has proven over and over again, he has the Tool Box, he just didn’t have the tools the last few years…and that falls squarely on Recruiting.

Say this about Don Brown, his defense in 2016 deserved much better that 10-3. Wilton Speight had a LOT to do w that and the offense did him ZERO favors in the Iowa or O$U games
