Is this not one of the greatest travesties in sports?
Despite his numerous worthy accolades and career numbers, former Detroit Tigers great Lou Whitaker was once again passed over for permanent enshrinement in baseball’s Hall of Fame.
The reaction was swift and immediate – and vitriolic.
Unbelievable that Lou Whitaker does not make the #BaseballHOF. Egregious.

Lou Whitaker’s a Hall of Famer!
I don’t care what the Modern Era Committee says!
What a joke!

How Dale Murphy and Lou Whitaker aren’t in the HOF is why I hate the Baseball Hall of Fame. It’s a joke.

My anger over Lou Whitaker’s snub is going to play out in a seething disgust for Derek Jeter worship over the next several months. It cannot be helped.

So Lou Whitaker has been denied the Hall of Fame. AGAIN.
I hereby submit my resignation from being a fan of MLB. I will never step foot in Cooperstown, and given how the Tigers have been running business, I'm not sure why I even do this anymore.

A Baseball Hall of Fame without Lou Whitaker isn't one worth my time

A Hall of Fame *with* Harold Baines and *without* Lou Whitaker.
Get out of here.

If Lou Whitaker isn’t put in the Hall of Fame, I’m prepared to punt something across the room.

Lou Whitaker not being inducted into the Hall of Fame is a total Injustice. At the very least, I feel that the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Park should have a statue created of Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell together converting a double play.
