The Michigan Wolverines needed a victory against Penn State at Beaver Stadium in a bad way. And despite a valiant effort, the maize and blue came up short, dropping a 28-21 decision in front of a raucous crowd.
The loss dropped Michigan to 5-2 on the season, and added another blight on head coach Jim Harbaugh’s record against ranked teams, which fell to 1-10.
Take a look at some of the instant fan reaction at the conclusion of the game.
Jim Harbaugh is the type of coach that can give you 5 years max then his message gets lost. I said it when Michigan hired him. Countdown starts now

Retweet if you have as many Big Ten titles as Jim Harbaugh. pic.twitter.com/sfi3kRNHyV

Jim Harbaugh is no Lloyd Carr. Dude is a empty suit. Lloyd had NFL guys all over the field on offense. We looked like the bad news bears for the first half. Harbaugh needs fired. The Irish will best us next week with him in charge. Stay clear of this tweet. No trouble for you. pic.twitter.com/6GPtsd841P

Season done. Goals done. Harbaugh done? 😱

I’m a MSU fan. But any Michigan fan blaming Ronnie Bell for that loss because he dropped a pass can kick rocks. He had a solid game all night. Want know who you should blame? Jim Harbaugh for having his team come out completely unprepared for the first quarter and a half

While Jim Harbaugh hasn't quite lived up to expectations when he took over the Michigan coaching job, he'll end up landing on his feet when he's let go and coaches in the #NFL.
His journey is like his players.
Except they don't get paid for their labor in college like him… pic.twitter.com/sxrpaGeJf2

Big plays and big mistakes will kill you. Michigan had nearly twice as many first downs as Penn State (26-14) and considerably more yardage (417-283) and time of possession (38-22 mins). Way too sloppy at the start, can't dig out of it. No moral victories, no excuses.

I think the Jim Harbaugh era at #Michigan is about to come to an end…

Jim Harbaugh has got the be the worst play caller in Big 10 history, I predicted almost EVERY single play call he made, so if some average football lover can predict him, imagine how easy it is for defensive coordinators who do that for a living 😂😂 so trash

Jim Harbaugh….. I think it’s time. There’s just no excuse.

Remember when Jim Harbaugh decided to try for a 58 yard field goal instead of letting Shea (who was I believe 8/9 on 3rd downs) throw the ball? I remember

Things don’t get any easier for Harbaugh and the Wolverines as they now prepare to host Notre Dame next weekend.
