For Michigan State and their fans, the hope was that the 2020 season would get off to a great start as Mel Tucker was coaching his first game since being hired by the Spartans.
When the 2020 Big Ten schedule was released, it looked like MSU had a cupcake to open up their campaign as Rutgers was coming to East Lansing. That’s right, a Rutgers team that had not won a Big Ten game since Nov. 4 or 2017.
Well, that losing streak is over as the Scarlet Knights embarrassed the Spartans on their home field 38-27.
Following the game (and during it), many took to Twitter to take a shot at Sparty.

Anything interesting happen while I was gone? Like a team in the cellar of their conference beating up on a team from the state of Michigan? Some new coach who was setting the “culture” needed to win getting out coaches by Greg Schiano? Idk thought I heard that somewhere https://t.co/GIo6B5HshX
