FANTASY ALERT: Detroit Lions make decision on Kerryon Johnson’s Week 10 status

The Detroit Lions are already going to have an uphill battle to climb on Sunday when they take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier field as Darius Slay, T.J. Lang, and Eli Harold have all been ruled out.

So, it was probably a pretty good feeling for those who woke up to see a tweet from Ian Rapoport saying that Lions’ rookie running back Kerryon Johnson, who is dealing with an ankle issue, is expected to play against the Bears.

NOTE: Ian Rapoport is not accurate with his reports 100% of the time, so make sure to check out the official Inactive List which will come out around 11:30 or so.

Not only is this good news for the Lions and their chances of beating the Bears, but it is equally good news for those of you who were counting on starting Johnson in fantasy football.

Now, don’t get too excited about playing Johnson as he is currently the No. 26 ranked PPR RB according to Fantasy Pros. In fact, if you have access to guys like Aaron Jones, Duke Johnson, or Marlon Mack, each of those would be the better option.

Detroit Lions mid-season report card

Is there any one particular word that describes what this season has been like for the Detroit Lions?

There have been some epic highs and some painful lows, that’s for certain. Yes, this is the Detroit Lions team that beat the New England Patriots. Actually, “annihilated” might be a more accurate description of how that game went. But, it’s also the same Detroit Lions team that was completely and utterly humiliated by the New York Jets to open the season. The same team that went on to beat the Green Bay Packers, and the same team that then went on to be again humiliated by the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks.

As is the case with every season, some players have been better than expected, while others have greatly under-performed. But, being that we’ve reached the halfway point of the season, it’s time for a position-by-position mid-season report card.
