Once we hit Week 5 of the NFL season, the waiver wire was getting fairly thin. There were a few players who were still available on the waiver wire as of last week who made impacts in Week 5, such as Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge and Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns, but aside from that, it was a poor week in terms of the free agent pool.
Week 6 offers an entirely new opportunity. A plethora of players broke out in Week 5 and the waiver wire has bounced back as a viable option to help teams immediately. DSN is here to tell you who those players are. Be it for a bye week, or a season long pickup, the waiver wire is the key to keeping your team primed for playoff push.
This week, the Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers have bye weeks.
[tps_title]1. Add James Starks[/tps_title]
Owned in just over 22% of ESPN Fantasy Leagues, Starks looks to be the man to own after a breakout performance in Week 5. The veteran RB put up 112 yards on 10 carries during Green Bay’s win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, receiving more touches than Eddie Lacy. Lacy has been bothered all year by an ankle injury, and due to that, doesn’t look to be anywhere near full strength. The Packers are on a bye week in Week 6, so Starks wont help you this coming week, but he’s definitely somebody to add and stash. If you have Lacy, he’s a must have as a handcuff. If you don’t have Lacy, he still looks to be the man to own in Green Bay at the current time.
