Average Draft Position: 182.3
Projected Round: 13-16
After a stellar season in 2014, the Lions defense fell back last season largely due to the loss of All-Pro linebacker DeAndre Levy. Levy missed all but one game in 2015 after suffering a hip injury that required surgery. With Levy expected to be back at full-strength this season, Detroit’s defense could be back among the elite.
In fantasy two things score points on defense, turnovers and sacks. If the Lions defensive line is as good as advertised with physical freak Ezekial Ansah rushing the passer and one of the deepest defensive tackle rotations in the league, Detroit should rack up plenty of sacks. The secondary also has playmakers like CB Darius Slay and safety Glover Quin. Not to mention Ameer Abdullah and Golden Tate returning kicks and the Lions D/ST could be a great value pick late in the draft.
