March 26, 2007 – 10 years to the day of the infamous “Fight Night at the Joe” – became known in Detroit sports history for a different kind of accomplishment.
A ridiculous game-tying shot from Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace tied the score against the Denver Nuggets at 98 points apiece. After the Nuggets flubbed their inbounds pass, Wallace grabbed the ball and launched a desperation shot 15 feet behind the half-court line. The crowd still remaining at the Palace of Auburn Hills erupted.
‘Sheed had plenty of highlights wearing the Pistons uniform, but this might be one of the best!
