‘Fire Al Avila Night’ to be held at Comerica Park

Following Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Twins, the Detroit Tigers are now 20 games below .500 for the first time this season and the fans are getting more and more upset that Al Avila is still employed by the once proud organization.

Well, one Tigers fan is trying to take matters into his own hands in order to put some pressure on owner Chris Ilitch to fire Avila, immediately.

‘Fire Al Avila Night’ to be held at Comerica Park

As you can see below, Sam Tomasi (@SamTomasi2) took to Twitter on Sunday to announce that July 26th will be “Fire Al Night” at Comerica Park.

Nation, let’s take this a step further and open up this invitation to anyone and everyone who will be attending the Detroit Tigers game on July 26th at Comerica Park.

Al Avila has had plenty of time to rebuild the Detroit Tigers and he has failed. It is time to move on.

  1. I think Aviala need to go it like the first thing out of his mouth today is we got 4 good arms in bull pen to trade who make him think we need to get rid of good arms out of pen . After Cris Ilitch just got done saying on tv that Tigers are satisfied under conditions

  2. The Tiger management and CHRIS ILLITCH are the worst combination of an inept group in the MLB and all of professional baseball. Start by firing someone….Please!! Scott Coolbaugh is a great start, then Avila. The fans in the D deserve better than this fiasco. Everyone in the Tigers organization should be absolutely embarrassed!! EVERYONE STOP GOING TO COMERICA AND PAYING $$ FOR THIS TRASH OF A TEAM!!

    • All good starts, but the development/scouts Trayce Thompson, Paredes decisionmakers, need house cleaning especially the idiots who have ruined promising pitchers by not preparing their arms physically for MLB, and players, and I use that term VERY loosely, need to go. Grossman, Schoop, Candelario, Pineda, Barnhardt, Meadows, trade or DFA. Stop expecting further miracles from Badoo, see ya. Get over the bromance for ‘not ready for prime timers’ .. Garcia, Rodriguez, Faedo, Clemens, Short, et al. If we are going to suck, lets do it where there might be hope. Bring up kids and see who sticks.

  3. why would anyone pay their hard earned money just to TRY to send a message to Chris Illich? Then the organization wins. The only way to send a clear message is to boycott the tigers and stay away from Comerica park. No fans = no money being spent.
