It is not even Thanksgiving time yet but thanks to the Detroit Lions struggles (3-6-1), our focus has already shifted from the NFL Playoffs to the 2020 NFL Draft.

If the draft were to take place today, the Lions would have the No. 10 pick in the first round. That being said, with Matthew Stafford potentially missing the remainder of the season, you can bet they will climb much higher, possibly into the top five.

So, who should the Lions select in the 2020 NFL Draft? Well, you can bet Bob Quinn will screw the pick up again if he is still around but here is what I think.

With their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select Iowa Hawkeyes EDGE rusher, A.J. Epenesa.

If you pay attention to college football, you have certainly heard about Epenesa, as he is one of the most disruptive defensive players in the Nation.

In his last two seasons (23 games) with the Hawkeyes, Epenesa has racked up a whopping 22 sacks and 29 tackles for loss.

Epenesa is a playmaking EDGE rusher who can get to the quarterback on a regular basis and that is exactly what the Lions defensive line is currently missing.

Prior to the 2019 NFL Draft, I begged Bob Quinn to pass on T.J. Hockenson because a defensive player was what this team needed the most but he did not listen.

Hopefully, he hears me this time around!

If you have not yet seen the greatness of A.J. Epenesa, we have you covered!
