Five remaining NFL free agents the Detroit Lions could use

Usually I never pair two guys in a list and by no means does including these guys together imply that I suggest the Lions sign BOTH of them. That would be foolish to believe. However, both players were born and raised in Michigan, both are coming from St. Louis and I believe both players would be excellent upgrades to the Lions offensive line.

Jake Long has battled injuries for much of the past two seasons but I, for one, believe if he can stay healthy he can still provide a team with Pro Bowl level tackle play. Former Detroit Cass Tech offensive tackle Joe Barksdale, who is younger and known more for his mauling run protection than his pass blocking, could shore up the right tackle position for the Lions if they acquired him.
