FLASHBACK: 1968 World Series, Game 7, 9th Inning – Tigers vs. Cardinals

In what was the 1968 World Series-clinching Game 7, Mickey Lolich outpitched the great Bob Gibson as the Detroit Tigers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1.

The 1968 World Championship was the third in the history of the Tigers.

Lolich went the distance and earned the win in Game 2, Game 5, and Game 7.

Mr. Tiger, Al Kaline batted .379 with two home runs and eight RBI’s in the series.
