Though he was once a loathed member of the Vancouver Canucks, Todd Bertuzzi quickly became a fan favorite when he donned the Winged Wheel for the first time in 2007, and then upon his return to the team in 2009.
While fans at Joe Louis Arena were known for chanting the last name of goaltender Chris Osgood or captain Steve Yzerman, Bertuzzi himself got the honor a number of times – starting after a fight with Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla in Detroit’s opening round playoff series in 2011.
The chant would later return in the third period when Bertuzzi skated around sans a helmet after taking a hit.
