As you know by now, the Detroit Lions have officially moved on from Jim Bob Cooter as their offensive coordinator.
This, of course, means the Lions will be responsible for finding a replacement offensive coordinator for the 2019 season.
So, who will have the honor of making that important decision?
Well, during his end of the season press conference on Friday, Lions’ general manager Bob Quinn was asked that question.
According to Quinn, he will be there for support, but head coach Matt Patricia will be responsible for hiring the next offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions.
Quinn said hiring a new offensive coordinator will be up to Matt Patricia, he’ll help with any resources Patricia needs. Quinn would like a coordinator that can adapt week to week and has a diverse offensive mind.

Though many names have already been tossed out as far as possible replacements for Jim Bob Cooter, one name that has not been taken too seriously is former Lions’ quarterback, Dan Orlovsky.
According to reports, Orlovsky was offered a job with the Lions from Jim Caldwell prior to the 2017 season, but he turned it down.
Now, it seems as if Orlovsky may or may not have some interest in being considered to be the Lions next offensive coordinator.
Orlovsky was one of the first to reply to the tweet above, and though it is cryptic, it seems like he might be interested. But we will let you be the judge on that.
