Detroit Lions special teams coordinator Brayden Coombs was unceremoniously
dismissed by the team after less than a season on the job.
The move was announced following Detroit's 46-25 loss to the Titans in which Coombs allegedly went rogue and called a fake punt without the approval of interim coach Darrell Bevell.
Special teams were relatively strong for Detroit under Coombs, and it wasn't expected to be long before he landed new employment. And now, it appears he's on the verge of doing so.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Coombs is drawing interest from around the NFL:
While Detroit is going through its own hiring process, former Lions special teams coach Brayden Coombs is drawing interest and is expected to find work soon, per source. Coombs was let go near the end of the season, although his special teams ranked amongst tops in the league.
