Imagine being a fan of the Detroit Lions back in the 1950s.
During that decade, the Lions went to the playoffs four times and made it to the NFL Championship Game in each of those seasons, including winning it all three times (1952, 1953, 1957).
Unfortunately, since winning the NFL Championship in 1957, the Lions have been to the playoffs just 12 times. That's right, only 12 playoff appearances in over 60 years for the Motor City Kitties. Oh, by the way, in those 12 playoff appearances, the Lions have only won a single playoff game (1991).

So, what is the problem with the Lions? We all have our own beliefs but former Lions defender Cliff Avril believes an outside force could be to blame.
Avril joined CBS Sports Radio and was asked by host Brandon Tierney, “Do the Lions ever find their way?”
His response was interesting to say the least.
From Lions Maven:
“Man, I am almost thinking they're cursed. It's crazy because you had the likes of Barry Sanders. You had the likes of Calvin Johnson, who is arguably one of the best wide receivers to play the game if he would have played long enough. But yet, still not being able to put up wins, maybe it is more of an organizational standpoint. Ownership maybe? I don't know. The vibe there, the energy there is completely different from Seattle in Detroit. It has to be something up top more so than the players because they have had some really really good players come thru there, but they have never been able to win any games.”
What do you think, Nation? Is Avril on to something here?
