Former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Mike Daniels has officially found a new NFL home.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Daniels has agreed to a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals for one-year and a reported $2.7 million:
Prior to 2019, Daniels had spent the first seven years of his career with the Green Bay Packers, making the Pro Bowl in 2017. During his only season with Detroit, he recorded 10 tackles, a sack, and two quarterback hits in just 204 snaps.
Daniels will bring a veteran presence to the Bengals, who finished last in the NFL last season on run defense.
Here’s how he described his game earlier this year:
“That’s just a testament to the player I am. Regardless of my situation, I’m going to come out and give everything I have, play as hard as I can, and that showed (last) year. Obviously I didn’t get hardly any opportunities to show what I could do, but at the same time, what chances I did get, I made the most of it. …
“It’s good to show that, hey, I’m still out here, I’m still balling, still kicking butt. And like I said, I didn’t control my playing time.”

The Detroit Tigers appear to have lost a big piece of their lineup tonight against the Chicago White Sox.
C.J. Cron has left the game after taking line drive to his left leg (shin area). He was being helped off the field by his teammates, and then was able to walk under his own power. However, once he got to the dugout, he wasn’t able to put any pressure on his leg.
