When Dan Campbell was hired in 2021 to be the Detroit Lions head coach, he immediately began building his coaching staff. When it came to hiring an offensive coordinator, Campbell made the decision to hire Anthony Lynn. Unfortunately, Lynn was not able to get the job done, and Campbell made the decision that it was time to take over as the team’s play caller. Now, according to reports, Lynn has drawn interest from the Washington Commanders.
Why it Matters
Lynn, who is now an assistant head coach and running backs coach for the San Francisco 49ers, is being considered for another coordinator gig.
- Lynn was Detroit’s OC in 2021 before Campbell made the decision to take over as the play caller
- He was previously the head coach for the Chargers
- Lynn is currently the assistant head coach for the 49ers
Former Lions OC Anthony Lynn draws interest from Commanders
According to a report from Nicki Jhabvala, the Washington Commanders have requested to interview Lynn for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
I anticipate the 49ers granting permission for the Commanders to interview Lynn, and we certainly wish him the best of luck.
