The Detroit Lions have had some bad coaches and some bad general managers over the years but not many (if any) have been as bad for the organization as former Lions head coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn.
On Saturday, news broke that long time Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford has requested a trade and has more than likely played his final game with the team that selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
According to former Lions OL Dominic Raiola, who knows Stafford well, the past three seasons under Patricia and Quinn likely caused Stafford to want to leave.
“The life got strained out of him,” Raiola said.
Raiola then proceeded to call out Patricia and Quinn.
“I don’t know if people understand how bad Matt Patricia was,” Raiola added. “I really don’t. I don’t think people understand how bad Bob Quinn was.”
It truly is sad to think that Stafford’s final three seasons with the Lions were under a regime that was completely clueless.
