Everyone has heard about a “perfect game” in baseball, but how about on the hardwood? That's exactly what former Detroit Pistons guard Ish Smith had himself on Friday night against the Toronto Raptors.
The current Washington Wizards guard had a season-high 26 points on a perfect 9-for9 FG shooting, a perfect 4-4 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. He also added in a block and steal for good measure.
It was the best shooting performance by a member of the Wizards since Mitchell Butler in 1994 and Larry Stewart in 1993. He also is the first Wizards player to come off the bench with such a performance:
Until tonight No Wizards sub has been perfect from the floor with at least 9 FGA since stats were first recorded in the 1970-71 season. @IshSmith is the first. Per @EliasSports #WizRaptors #WizRaptors
