Around these parts, we know Ian Kinsler as an infielder, who in his prime could field with the best of them and swing a mean bat.

On Monday, Kinsler was called upon to pitch in the ninth inning for the San Diego Padres as they trailed the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 10-2. Kinsler gave up a hit and walked two batters but did not give up a run in his appearance.
But that’s not the good part of the story.
You see, after pitching the top of the ninth, Kinsler then came to bat in the bottom of the frame and he proceeded to belt a 2-run home run to become the first Padres pitcher in team history to go yard in the ninth inning.

Way to go, Ian!
