Former Lions head coach Jim Schwartz gets his first interview request of the off-season

Former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz has a chance to make history and end a pathetic streak for Detroit. According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the current Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator has received an interview request from the Cleveland Browns to fill their head coaching vacancy.

Based on Wikipedia research, the last Lions head coach to be a head coach of another NFL team after their time in Detroit was Buddy Parker who coached the Lions from 1951-56, and then coached the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1957-64.

Schwartz has been the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator since 2016. Since 2016 the Eagles rankings in total defense:

2016 (13th)

2017 (4th)

2018 (23rd)

2019 (10th)

Schwartz coached the Lions for five years from 2009-13 and compiled just a 29-52 record in the motor city with one playoff appearance.
