The New England Patriots lost a heartbreaker last night to the Tennessee Titans, dropping a 20-13 decision that ended with quarterback Tom Brady throwing a pick-six.
Could it actually be the last time we see the 42 year old Brady in the NFL? Brady didn’t close the door on either possibility.
“Who knows what the future holds?” Brady said in his postgame press conference. “We’ll leave it at that.”
A reporter then asked a follow up question on whether or not Brady would be playing for New England next season.
“I love the Patriots,” Brady said. “It’s the greatest organization. Playing for Mr. Kraft all these years and for Coach Belichick, there is nobody who has had a better career than me just being with them. I’m very blessed and I don’t know what the future looks like, and I’m not going to predict it. I wish we’d won tonight. I wish we’d done a lot of things better over the course of the season, but we just didn’t get the job done.”
There has been speculation this season that the two parties could part ways after the year ends. Brady will be a free agent this offseason and cannot be franchise-tagged.
