Former Michigan State football coach George Perles dies

According to reports, former Michigan State football coach and board of trustees member George Perles died on Tuesday at the age of 85.

In 12 seasons (1983-1994) as head coach of the Michigan State Spartans, Perles posted a record of 73-62. His best season came in 1987 when he led MSU to a 9-2-1 record, which included a Rose Bowl victory over USC.
