Indiana has landed one of the biggest commitments of the offseason, and it comes at the expense of a Big Ten rival.
According to ESPN’s Max Olson, former Michigan State wide receiver Nick Marsh has committed to transfer to Indiana University, giving new head coach Curt Cignetti a massive offensive weapon. Marsh is currently ranked the No. 3 wide receiver in ESPN’s transfer portal rankings, making him one of the most highly sought-after playmakers available.

Marsh’s transfer decision comes after weeks of speculation that he could potentially land at the University of Michigan, where some believed he might reunite with several former in-state recruiting connections. Instead, he chose a fresh start in Bloomington, and Indiana fans are thrilled.
The 6-3, 215-pound wideout was one of the Spartans’ top offensive contributors over the past two seasons. In 23 career games at Michigan State, Marsh recorded:
- 100 receptions
- 1,311 receiving yards
- 9 touchdowns
- 13.1 yards per catch
He also added 34 rushing yards and proved to be a versatile weapon in multiple offensive looks.
For Indiana, this is more than just a roster addition; it’s a statement. Cignetti has made it clear he intends to upgrade IU’s talent level, and landing a proven Big Ten playmaker like Marsh reinforces that message loud and clear.
Michigan State, meanwhile, loses another key offensive piece as its own roster continues to transition under a new era.
Marsh now heads to Bloomington with a huge opportunity in front of him, and if his first two college seasons are any indication, the Hoosiers just found themselves a true difference-maker on offense.
