But 2021 is likely going to look very different for the Lions as it is possible that all three of the aforementioned wide receivers could be playing elsewhere.
Because of this, the Lions will have to add some receivers to the mix either via free agency or the NFL Draft. That being said, it is not a position that a good general manager is going to break the bank on, especially at the start of a rebuild.
One veteran receiver who could soon become available and provide the Lions with some experience is Emmanuel Sanders, who I expect will be cut before the start of the new league year (March 17)
Sanders, who is about to turn 34 years old, has ties to new Lions head coach Dan Campbell as they spent the 2020 season together with the New Orleans Saints. During the 2020 campaign, Sanders caught 61 passes for 726 yards five touchdowns.
Would Sanders come in catch 100 balls? No. But could he come in and be a veteran who can help teach some of the younger receivers the Lions will likely acquire at some point during the draft? Absolutely.
Nation, would you like to see the Lions bring in Emmanuel Sanders on a 1-year deal?
