The comeback effort for former Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader continues today.
The Red Wings American Hockey League affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins have announced that he's been signed to a tryout contract:

Abdelkader has appeared in 739 games, all with the Red Wings while scoring 106 goals with 146 career assists. He's also played with EV Zug of the Swiss National League, and was named captain of the United States Men's National Team for last year's IIHF Men's World Championship.
