Former Michigan State Spartan guard Keith Appling is facing serious charges following an incident at a strip club on Sunday night.

The Detroit News is reporting that Appling was arrested outside the Pantheion Club Sunday night and was in possession of a loaded large assault rifle. Appling was seen handling the weapon which was stored in the trunk of the car. When police arrived and searched the vehicle they found a handgun under the driver’s seat, the assault weapon, as well as an undisclosed amount of what appears to be marijuana.
Appling has been charged with the misdemeanors of possession of marijuana and a loaded firearm, but, also a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Appling spent four years as a stellar member of the basketball team at Michigan State. As a senior he averaged 11.2 points, 3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. In 2015 he spent most of his time in the NBA Developmental League as a member of the Erie BayHawks. Appling also played in five preseason games with the Orlando Magic.
