Former Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Lions wide receiver Charles Rogers passed away this morning at the age of 38, and there has already been an outpouring of condolences from his former teammates via social media.
Devastated to learn of the passing of my spartan brother Charles Rodgers. Spoke with his mom this morning. Please pray for her and his children. Please also be respectful of their privacy at this difficult time. Rip Chuck ????

Charles Rogers’ story is a really sad one. He went from a all world HS/CFB player, drafted #2 and being a bust. Having other stuff happen then eventually working at a auto shop. I’m not saying he didn’t make mistakes but I feel like he was terribly misunderstood. Rest in power.

Charles Rogers catch against Notre Dame in 2002 is still my favorite sports moment. At full speed it looked like he was about two feet out of bounds. Such a dominant and captivating athlete. pic.twitter.com/3ioSPsfjoM
