Top-ranked Massachusetts prospect chooses Wolverines over Penn State and Georgia
The Michigan Wolverines have added a major piece to their future with the commitment of four-star quarterback Peter Bourque from Tabor Academy (Mass.). Bourque’s decision was announced on August 11, choosing Michigan over offers from Penn State, Georgia, and several other Power Five programs.
Bourque is the No. 1-ranked player from Massachusetts, the No. 6 quarterback nationally, and sits at No. 75 overall in the 247Sports composite rankings. At 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, he brings the size, arm strength, and mobility that Michigan’s offensive staff has been targeting in recent classes.
Proven Production at the High School Level
As a sophomore, Bourque put up 1,737 passing yards with 17 touchdowns and only three interceptions, while adding 317 rushing yards and four scores on the ground. That dual-threat profile caught the eye of Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who has been instrumental in developing quarterbacks at both the college and high school level.
