Detroit Red Wings forward and former Islander Frans Nielsen was injured against his old team during the Wings’ 5-4 victory over New York on Friday night at Joe Louis Arena.
He was injured during the game and did not return.

The extent of the injury isn’t known, and coach Jeff Blashill reported that Nielsen will see how he feels during the morning skate.
